Education Support Qualifications

These qualifications cover workers in a range of education settings, including public and independent schools and community education settings that provide assistance and support to teachers and learners under broad based supervision. Education Support workers work closely with teachers, collecting and/or developing teaching resources, setting up and operating equipment, undertaking administrative and student supervision duties and participating in teaching activities

Occupational titles may include:

Education support worker, Teacher assistant, Teacher aide, Education assistant (special needs),Education assistant, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander education worker, Indigenous language and culture teaching assistant, Language worker, Literacy worker, Homeland teaching assistant, Home tutor, Support worker (working with children with disabilities).

AATS offers the following qualifications in Education Support:

CHC30808 Certificate III in Education Support - The Certificate III in Education Support forms the first level of a study pathway through to Diploma in Education Support. It articulates into the Certificate IV and Diploma in Education Support.

CHC41708 Certificate IV in Education Support - The Certificate IV in Education Support is the second level of accredited training for education support workers within the Education Support suite of courses.

CHC51308 Diploma in Education Support - The Diploma of Education Support is the third level of accredited training for education support workers within the Education Support suite of courses.
